"Green Tambourine". This was recorded by The Lemon Pipers in 1968 during the age of bubble gum music, incense & patchouli oil. The Lemon Pipers were a Ohio-based bubble gum style rock group. Their first hit was with The Buddah label. The lyrics "watch the jingle jangle start to shine"is about a street musician begging for money. In exchange he will play something on his green tambourine. This style became known as the "psychedelic pop sound".
